A Day in the Life of a Chef Wife – August 2014
Every month on the 10th day, I grab my camera and capture my day with 10 pictures.
Today was not my typical day. Why? Because my husband was off! Woohoo!! We were able to spend the day together as a family and he’s actually in a few of the pictures this month! AMAZING!!
Our morning started off a bit different. We woke up and it was just my chef/husband and I in the house! The girls spent the night at my aunt’s house so we could go out on a date last night. (A Saturday night . . . that was strange . . . new job . . . hmmmm.) So morning coffee in a quiet house. How lovely!
Your Chef/Husband is Changing Jobs . . . AGAIN?
Your chef/husband is changing jobs . . . again?
Why yes he is. Thanks for asking.

You Know Your Dad’s a Chef When . . . Part 3
To all my children’s friends and their parents (current and future), please consider this a warning and an apology.
You know your Dad’s a chef when. . . you use dish towels to wipe up everything in the kitchen.
I jokingly wrote a while back that I can hardly remember using cute dish towels since I’m married to a chef. I gave up on them a long time ago since my husband uses them for EVERYTHING in the kitchen. We use white flour sack dish towels because they are cheap and we can bleach them. We go through a few each day (unless my chef/husband is home cooking and then we go through most of them in the drawer.) read more…
Meet Alisa – A Chef, a Wife and a Child
I’m so excited to move on in this series and introduce you to other chef wives who are willing to share their stories with us about what it’s like having a child with a chef.
I’ve asked them all the same 5 questions and hope that you’ll be encouraged by what they share.
So tonight I want to introduce you to Alisa . . .
Tell me a little about yourself and your spouse. (Please include how long you have been married and what your job is (in addition to being a wife and mom.)
My name is Alisa and I am 44 years old. I am married to Chef Paul who is 46. We have been married for 22.5 years. I work full time at a Benefits office for a Union. I do general office work. What Are Other Chef Wives Writing About?
If you are like me, you enjoy reading what other chef wives/significant others write about their lives because it makes you feel like you are not alone.
After the kids go to bed and my chef/husband is still at work, it’s really quiet in the house. Sometimes I really like it and enjoy the time by myself. Other times I really wish he was home so we could spend more time together. At that time of night, I’m usually in front of the computer, reading blogs in Bloglovin‘, browsing through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest, or searching the internet for some random question I had during the day.
When I see a new post about being married to a chef in my Bloglivin’ feed, I get so excited. I love reading what others are writing, even if I don’t agree with it. I even love reading those ridiculous articles about how glamorous our lives must be because we are married to a chef. (After I’m done laughing at those I usually comment on them to try and set the record straight!!) read more…
