The picture pretty much sums it up! When you are married to a chef, you have more recipes and cookbooks than you know what to do with.
The problem is not the NEED for a recipe, it’s the NEED TO FIND the recipe you want to make and the MATH SKILLS TO SCALE DOWN THE RECIPE so you don’t end up with 5 gallons of salad dressing. And then, HOW TO ORGANIZE these recipes that you’ve now converted into a home quantity!
So why include recipes on a blog whose goal is to share what it’s like to combine restaurant and family life?
Oh, I’m so glad you asked.
The short answer – So I can send someone to this site when they ask me for a recipe.
I tend to have a bad memory and get distracted easily by our 3 children. When someone asks me for a recipe (which happens often since I am married to a chef), it’s much easier to send them to my website where they can search for it, than to write myself a note to remember to email them an Excel file of the recipe. That’s it. Plain and simple.
The recipes are only things I have personally tried and that work (in my ordinary Whirlpool oven and stove). Recipes are a part of my life as a chef’s wife. I can’t ignore them. My life seems to revolve around food. I just can’t get away from it.
I will be gradually adding recipes as I have time. Feel free to browse by category, or use the search feature at the top of the website (the little magnifying glass) to search for a specific term. You can always contact me if you want something specific as well.
Happy Cooking!
