How in the world do you schedule a Dr. appointment or an appointment to leave your car for 6 hours, when your husband is a chef and you have kids?
Not easily!
Now maybe it’s just me, but as a chef wife, I struggle with this.
Let’s be honest. There are some Dr. appointments I REALLY don’t want to go to with 3 kids. And these types of appointments can only be scheduled M-F and usually need to be scheduled weeks in advance.

I could probably get over one of those obstacles with my chef/husband having a weekday off . . . But I’ve found over the years that his schedule tends to change at the last minute and that weekday I was planning on having him off for is no longer a day off. I’ve put off and rescheduled many appointments over the years because of this.
(And let’s not even talk about trying to schedule a Dr. or Dentist appointment for the chef! That is nearly impossible!)
Then there are appointments for the car when I need to leave it for 5-6 hours with the mechanic. Some places will let you leave it early and pick it up late, which is nice. But what about places where that is not an option?
A few weeks ago I had two car issues where I needed to leave the car. My husband was working hours where he couldn’t help me get to and from the mechanic during the limited hours they were open. That’s fine. It’s not a big deal to have a friend help. But finding a friend who can fit me + 3 kids + them and their kids in their car all at the same time is not an easy task!
In all of life’s problems, this is probably a pretty silly one. But silly or not, I struggle with it.
