This has been a CRAZY month!!
School started, both my chef/husband and I celebrated our birthdays, it started raining again . . . it just flew by!
In the midst of all the craziness, I found a little time for myself. So here are a few of my favorite things this month:
- I’ve had the chance to blog a little bit more and have loved all the emails I have received from other chef wives and girlfriends, some asking my opinion on things and some just saying hello and chatting. I love it!
- I’m intrigued by this cookbook with recipes from Willie Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. I know we need another cookbook like we need a hole in the head, but how fun would this be? Watch the movie and then cook? Sounds like a great chef-father/daughter evening!! (It would be a great birthday party idea too, but instead we are planning a Paris themed birthday party. Good thing I’m married to a chef, because there is no way I could pull off the food and cake for something like this on my own!!)
- I ordered new chef pants for my husband and almost cried when I found out that shipping was $16. Really? Chefwear?? $16 for UPS ground shipping? They are not that heavy!! What’s up with that??
- My husband and kids bought me a new coffee maker which is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! It’s been fun to make different drinks in it every morning. I love that it brews K-Cups and coffee grounds or loose tea. Did you know that September 29th was National Coffee Day?
- We are starting to think about Halloween costumes. Wouldn’t this be the cutest costumes for our chef kids to wear?
- I’ve been working really hard on managing my time better so I make sure I have time to do the things I need to do as well as a few fun things. So far so good. (This has even made our home a bit more peaceful. YAY!!)
- I loved this article about chefs working alongside hospice care.
- I reorganized our home kitchen after some advice from the chef. It’s much easier to cook in now. This is ANOTHER example of a time I should have listened to his advice sooner. (I really have to work on that when it comes to cooking and things in the kitchen!!)
- I found 15 chef coats in our closet. 6 of them went straight into the trash! Yuck!
- I re-read Kerilyn’s post written to those who really have no idea what it’s like to be married to a chef.
Well, that was my month. How was yours? Did anyone find any new blog posts or articles about being married to or dating a chef? Anything fabulous happen at your chef/husband’s restaurant this month that you want to share or brag about?
