At one point or another, we’ve all felt very alone being married to or dating a chef. I say it all the time, but just in case you missed it . . . YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
The whole reason I write this blog is to connect with other chef families and so that we don’t feel so alone.
I remember when I told my chef/husband that I was thinking about starting this blog, I had no idea there were already a few other brave chef wives who had done the same.
There are two other blogs I want to make sure you’ve heard about. Neither of them are currently writing on the blog, but they are still full of great posts that might be helpful.
Married to a Chef
The first time I found Kerilyn’s blog, Married to a Chef, I sat for hours, reading. I had found someone who understood what I was going through as the wife of a chef. I was not alone! (Sigh of relief.)
When I talked to her on the phone I didn’t have to explain myself because she just got it. She’s married to a chef as well. She was a stranger on the other side of the country but she understood my life. Crazy!!
Desperate Chefwives
The second blog I came across was Desperate Chefwives. Again, after a couple hours of reading, I was so glad to “meet” someone who I could relate to. Just when I think I’ve read all the posts, I find a new one. Hilary is another chef wife, sharing her life, so that we know we are not alone in this craziness!
While you might not be able to relate to every one of my blog posts or all of the posts from Kerilyn or Hilary, if you are married to or dating a chef, I GUARANTEE you will relate somehow to some of them and walk away not feeling so alone.
So grab an Eggnog Latte and your phone and start reading. You are not alone. The Christmas season is hard for all of us!
And if you want to chat with other chef wives and girlfriends, join us over in our closed Facebook Group. (More details on how to join here.)
Update 12/2015 – This past year, I also wrote a series called, “The Chef Wives are Talking,” where I share more blogs and posts written by other chef wives and girlfriends. Make sure to check out that series as well!
From one chef’s wife to another,
Thank you so much for the shout-out, Jennifer. I am always happy to “meet” another chef’s wife. We share so many of the same frustrations, as well as joys. Thanks for reading!
We do! So happy to see you are writing again. 🙂
