Day 9 – This is Just a Season (12 Days of Encouragement for the Chef’s Family)

Tags:

We are in the midst of the Christmas “Season.”

12 days of encouragement for the chefs familySeason.

It’s just part of the year.

It’s not forever, even though it might feel like it when you are completely worn out and haven’t see your chef in what seems like an eternity!

We will see our chefs again soon.  Really, we will!

Think ahead to January which is “usually” much slower at the restaurant.

I don’t want to rush Christmas, but remember, this time of even crazier than normal chef hours is just for a season.

January 2nd is coming………  🙂

Hang in there.  I’m here with you.

If I can pray for your family or encourage you in a specific way, please leave a comment or send me an email.  I’d love to hear from you!

From one chef’s wife to another,

Jennifer

I met chef at the end of September this year when we were living 1.5 hours apart. Didn’t live in the same city until early November, so I really haven’t known him outside of holiday season yet. I would love to be excited for January, but I’m leaving at the end of next week for Asia and will be gone until January 18th. This will be a trip of a lifetime (that was planned months before I met chef), but all I can think is that I’m leaving right when things will finally start to slow down for him and we could maybe see more of each other. I said goodbye to him this morning (he’s working every day until after I leave) and he did say “I’ll be here” when I said I’ll be back on the 18th, but I still feel sad.

Jennifer, I got back almost a month ago, and between Minneapolis hosting the Super Bowl and now Valentines Day, I still haven’t seen chef. We are in touch (some days he can’t text and while it’s hard not hearing from him, I get that) and it *seems* like he wants to see me when things slow down, but I’m beginning to wonder if they ever will! It’s been almost two months now since we were together. Is this normal?? I don’t know how to feel….

Oh no…going from the holidays to the SuperBowl to Valentine’s Day…that’s a lot of craziness all in a row. I’m not sure what to say “normal” is as it’s different everywhere! Hang in there! I know it’s hard!!
